Looking back at my years as a student, two things pop into my mind. First, I could not have imagined doing all the things I did when I started the study. It has been an awesome ride which I would not regret at all. Second thing: 2015, being eight/nine years ago, sounds not so long ago, though quite far back in time at the same time. Let’s dive into it.

Seven years ago, the University of Twente introduced TOM, the Twente Educational Model (Twents Onderwijs Model in Dutch. Using TOM, the bachelors were built up of coherent modules, each containing a collection of courses in the same field and a project to put the acquired knowledge into practice. While I was still a candidate-board member, we (myself and the rest of the then candidate-board) thought of the idea to increase the presence of study support from our association to our members. We came up with the idea to organize study evenings, where students could study in a supportive environment. With this idea we started and after gathering information about such evenings from other study associations we setup our first study evening in the eighth week of the first quartile. ...
